My new laptop makes a high pitched noise, seemingly coming from the left side of the device which increasing as fan RPM increases. Was wondering if anyone had this/ knew how to fix it. I've made sure it isn't coming from the speakers, they are off. Thanks

I have had the same issues and uninstalled and re-installed drivers listed in the chats but, unfortunately, had no resolution before my battery died completely. Any suggestions? I have the ENVY x360. Thank you!

Ram Upgrade for G72-260US

Am planning to upgrade my RAM from existing 3GB[1GB in Slot 1, 2GB in Slot 2] to 6GB.
There are 2 dedicated slots for RAM
[Slot1: Engraved with 1.5V 5.2R LTK] - Elpida 1GB 1Rx8 PC3-10600S-9-10-B1 - Single Rank
[Slot2: Engraved with 1.5V 9.2R LTK] - Samsung 2GB 1Rx8 PC3-10600S-09-10-ZZZ - Single Rank
My Config as follows,
CPU: Intel Core i3 M380 @2.53GHz
Motherboard: Hewlett-Packard 1425 54.57
Memory: DDR3, Channel# Dual, Symmetric DC Mode, CAS# Latency (CL) 7.0 clocks
Out of curiosity, I rearranged the RAM modules leaving Samsung to Slot 1& Elpida to Slot 2. Unfortunately, my Laptop didn't boot. I reverted them to their initial state, everything works fine.
I thought of purchasing an additional 4GB RAM Module which can be replaced with the existing in Slot 1. But the scenario reflected made me dumb about my purchase. Could you please let me know, whether I can purchase any sort of 4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM Module irrespective of the engravings[1.5V 5.2R LTK, 1.5V 9.2R LTK], to be installed in either of the slots resulting 6GB of RAM in total.

how do I run a .deb file to restore my LINUX OS system
I have downloaded a .deb file (liveusb-creator-ubuntu_0.3.3netbook0dennis5_all.deb). How do I run that of boot up with that software. I copied it to a USD and tried to load that to no avail.

Re: HP Envy Shuts Down randomly
My pc is plugged in always and doesn't move from my desk and it still shuts down, maybe 3/4 times a day. So, it can't be the plug as it never gets moved. So now what?

Battery Indicator showing 100% all the time
Battery indicator showing as 100% all the time, right up until it powers down due to low battery. I've checked other forum posts for similar issues but no solution found. Can't do the standard calibration as it requires the removal of the battery. My model has a fixed battery. This appears to be a known issue but I can't find a known solution.
Running windows 10 home, Build 14393, 64 bit.

HP Pavillion Notebook - Bios has to be removed by me to upgrade Windows 10
When trying to upgrade Windows 10 I get this message and don't know how to uninstall: Uninstall not compatible w/upgrade HO Pavillion Notebook - Bios needs to be upgraded before you can upgrade to Windows 10. This HP Pavillion Notebook was purchased on 7-6-17and it gives lots of problems! Not very happy. We bought another one 6 days later for my husband and it does the same thing!

HP BIOS update utility freezes after strange error window
Hi, this 2 month old laptop shuts down and reboots very frequently with "thread stuck in device driver" message.
I read on several forums that this could be caused by a out of date BIOS or GPU driver.
GPU drivers were OK, so I ran HP Support Assistant which indicated that a BIOS update (sp79666.exe) was available and it wasimportant to install it.
The exe unpacked OK but after the EULA froze with this error message:
Fine, so I click on OK and the window freezes with "next" & "cancel" buttons greyed out.
The first time I ran the sp79666.exe, I got to the next screen - select: "update / write to USB / save to file"
- I selected "update" and the laptop went directly into reboot with the "thread stuck in device driver" message.
Now the utility is stuck with the crazy error window and that's all it will do.
Can any of you successfully run this utility?

HP Pavilion 15-au104nx runs games with charging very lagging and the sounds decreased
this problem for my lab top HP Pavilion 15-au104nx PLEASE this problem is sucks really i want to get lost of it
ok when i have to play my games WHILE CHARGING its lagging to much and the sounds decreases automatically and i tried to update my graphics cards and tried to remove my sound diver and reinstall it using the driver from your site and nothing happened why all is this happening ?? all that while i am charging if i remove my charger it will freeze and its impossible to play and games with high graphics
and when i play my games without charging it will be imposible cause it will run it with full of lags
i asked a lot of people and the most said the the battery is the problem i want to know what is my problem and i want to solve it

Laptop wont turn on
Hello,
My problem is that my laptop has shutdown all of a sudden and wont turn on again.
I went trough all of the troubleshoot such as reconecting charger, disconect everything and remove battery and press power button.
Ive tried several official hp chargers, none of them work. I have replaced the DC input but the light still does not flash and laptop wont turn on.
When Ive opened my laptop, I havent seen nothing like black or burned around that dc input area conection.
Is there any way how I can discover what is cousing this issue ?
Ive bought the laptop last Fabruary and warranty expaired 1 year after purchase.

New harddisk raw read and write error
Hello, My laptop model is Hp 14-n229tx. 1 month ago, I changed my toshiba hard disk for too much bad sectors. Then I bought Samsung Momentus (actually it is seagate momentus, samsung and seagate joint project) 1 TB hard disk but after 1 month I saw this drive has slow sectors after 150 GBs. It has also high value of raw error read and write error in S.M.A.R.T data. Then I claimed warrenty issue and got another Samsung Momentus hard disk, this time I did not see any types of problems which I faced before Like copy paste speed 0kb, unrar any rar is approximately 0kb. But this new hard disk has also increasing of raw error rate in S.M.A.R.T data. My father's laptop has also seagate harddisk and he has a million raw error data. So my question is why this error increasing? As per as know, this is happening because of faulty SATA cable. Should I change SATA cable from motherboard?? My motherboard has a system of unplugging ribbon type connection and my sata cable is ribbon type. I can not efford to buying another model hard disk like western digital or toshiba. What should I do??

notebook sudden shut down
we bought 6 units of HP Pavilion BF061tx notebook.. out of 6 units 3 units got sudden shut down and can not power up ( no light in power indicator)
...what is the cause of this ?
1st we check the power adapter but it was good . then we try to plug and unplug the power connector for several time some revivied . and in one unit we did the disconnect and connect the battery and it was immediatly revived .
we though the problem is over . but after one week more . problem occurs again ..same defect .
It was alraming we can not just use disconnect and connect method .
we need why and what to do about it

device drivers for HP Pavillion g6 1d40ac Windows 7 notebook.
I have a HP Pavillion g series notebook can' seem to find any device drivers for anything to get wired or wireless access at all. I have checked inside and found that it has a Broadcom 4313GN installed what are my options here as I can't get online.

HP service center refuses to provide service citing that HP does not manufacture keyboard
I had contacted authorized HP service center for replacement of the key board and cooling fan. The service after 10 days of follow up and wait time, informed me that the Keyboard and cooling fan for HP Pavilion dv6 cannot be replaced as it is not available with HP warehouse since HP company no longer manufactures it. They refused to help or suggest anything.
Does this mean that people should avoid buying HP notebooks since one can never know what all HP might stop manufacturing?

How to enable or install TPM(Trusted platform module) in my HP NOTEBOOK 15-ac098TU?
Hii there, I am using HP notebook 15ac098tu and i did want to install an application in my notebook which is hooking me up while giving an error "TPM(Trusted platform module) is not installed. Please install TPM and try again.". I tried to intall it by using 'add a legacy hardware' option from the device manager, but no changes. Please help me to install my application by enabling TPM.

I could see that latest x360 laptops are equipped with additional graphics in addiotion to integrated graphics....?

cpu clock throttling
Hi there,
I'm using Envy x360 convertible laptop with AMD FX9800p processor. While playing some games and using some softwares, I found my CPU clock goes down fron 2.7GHz (base clock) to 750 or sometimes 350 MHz, which causes a complete lag even @ lowest settings. Why this is happening? How can I solve this?
