SD Cards Not Reading HP Envy 17-J070ca
Hey everyone!
I frequently download photos,video off of my SDHC, SD, and CF cards using either the camera, cord or card reader or built in card reader.
Suddenly my computer now gets stuck on "scanning your device" when connected to the camera(s), external card reader, and the built in SD card reader won't read at all.
I've tried diasbling/enabling the Realtek PCIE Cardreader, reinstalling/trying all available cardreader drivers for my system one at a time from the HP site since it couldn't give me a custom list on the site, ran chkdsk on the actual cards (no corruption), rolled back the computer, let the computer update when it asks to. I noticed that it showed the PCI device driver wasn't installed, but that disappeared when I put the Realtek PCIE Cardreader that was originally on the system back on.
I'm running a:
HP Envy 17-j070ca
Windows 8.1 version 6.3 (build 9600) 64 bit
Current Realtek PCIE Cardreader driver version: 6.2.9200.21220

Battery Replacement
Does anyone know how much HP would charge to replace a battery for an HP Stream? I bought it about three years ago, but it only lasted one year. It won't turn on without being plugged into the wall.

HP Pavilion G6 2000 Series??
I have an HP Pavilion G6-2235us and am searching for a replacement motherboard.
The only issue is that most of the time, you get results like, "HP Pavilion G6 2000 Series Replacement Motherboard."
I just want to verify that I'm buying the correct product. Since mine is the 2235us, wouldn't that mean it's part of the 2000 series?
Google has completely failed me on this one.

My hp Pavillon dv6 turned itself off while it was on
My laptop turned itself off whilst it was turned on. 20 minutes prior to that we had put a Cd in it for my son to watch. A couple of times this week it's turned itself off but I could turn it straight back on again. I took the battery out and held the power button for 30 seconds but no lights at all came on. I have assignments due so stressing out here if someone can help please

After upgrading to Windows 10, my trackpad does not allow me to use my fingers to scroll
I upgraded to windows 10 and now my trackpad doesn't allow me to use my fingers to scrolll. Very frustrating.

Action keys and touchpad problem
Hi,
I just bought new HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook - 15-ak006nc (ENERGY STAR) with W10 Home 64x.
At first, I have problem with keyboard action keys. They are like default, so when I want to press F5 to actualize something, it will just turn on lighting of the keyboard and for the actualization I have to press FN button + F5. Is there some way to switch it, that for action keys I will need to press FN button and not for normal F-keys? (I was using them alot -F2 renaming, alt+F4 for closing etc.)
Second question is about touchpad settings - after every reboot/switching on the machine, I have to change settings, or load saved profile with my personalized settings. Is there any option to change default settings?

CPU upgrade of my HP Pavilion g6-1365sl
Hi everybody, I'd like to upgrade the CPU (B960) of my HP Pavilion g6-1365sl.
Searching on the web, i've found different Maintenance and Service Guide for g6, as report below:

I assume that the correct edition is the c03094322 (the first one) just because the touch pad is centrally unlike the other two (and because is that provided by the site)...so...the maximum installable CPU is Intel® Core™ i7-2640M???
It's correct?...what is the difference between these editions?

Left Hinge of HP Spectre x360 is loose
First this laptop is absolutely amazing no other problems what so ever with it but the left hinge has seem to come loose. i have only had it since the beginning of december and when i first got it i noticed it was a little loose but just ingored it. It has now gotten worse and the entire metal hinge pops in out from the laptop when i open it. Everything still works fine it just makes the screen less stable and it wobbles around when i pick it up. I was wondering if it is possible for me to fix this or do i have to send it in to get fixed. I purchased the signature edition from the microsoft store so i dont know if i send it into hp or microsoft.

hp pavilions shell cracked
Hi,
Recently my laptop has started cracking near the fan area. The cracking started a few months ago and has gradually but slowly become worse. The cracking is appearing on the outer shell or the blue bit. My warranty has expired and i dont know what to do. Is there anywhere i can buy a new shell from or get it repaired? And is it possibile to stop it cracking more. I suspect the cracking is because the fan generates haet and it might of made the plastic unstable and therefore that is why it has cracked. Look at the picture below, the black box indicates where the cracking is. The blue bit near the fan which allows the air to get out, has cracked and now there is a crack emerging just above the area where the air comes out from.
sorry if my description is confusing, i dont know how else to explain it.

Took Laptop to shop they say cant add memory
I took my Laptop to the shop and asked for some more data with the part i bought on amazon and I was told it is not possible to add memory to my laptop is there any other way to do this because it is only 16gb and it is a shared laptop so more GB is needed

letter and numeric keyboard are both giving numbers of both not giving numbers
Hi,
I have a Probook 4510s that i updated to win 10. But now I have a problem with my keyboard. The initial working of the keyboard from start up is ok: letter keyboard returns letters, numeric keyboard returns numbers. But if I accidentally press Num Lock, and Num Lock again to get the previous/initial keyboard functioning back, de working of the keyboard is changed and I can’t get it back to how it was, only restart helps (as far as I know). The letter keyboard as well as the numeric keyboard are giving numbers, or, if I press Num Lock again, both are not giving numbers. How do get back to letters returning letters and numeric returning numbers?

Power cut or fuzzy screen
Hello All, my Pavilion g6 has started to either just cut out, as if I have held the power button down but I haven't or the screen goes fuzzy and the fan increases in speed.
I have cleaned the fan out as I thought it may be overheating but it can either shut itself off or the screen go fuzzy within minutes of turning it on from cold.
Then other times it can stay on for hours with no problems.
I'm now at a loss.

1329wm Dual Channel RAM. Update bios?
I bought 8 gigs of laptop RAM for my Pavilion G7-1329wm. Here it is:

It's already way faster than what I had before. My problem is that I expected it to be running at a speed of 2133MHz and in dual channel mode. CPU-Z does not report these findings.
That made me start to wonder. Maybe my laptop does not support dual channel mode or these speeds. Then I wondered if I could do a BIOS update to hopefully accept more modern hardware and their speeds. I then checked in CPU-Z that my bios is way old, back from 2012. I couldn't find any support for an update through HP. Can an HP expert please let me know what I can do to get the most speed out of my RAM?

Pavilion 15-b104sp motherboard number - Is this model a ghost? Can't find it even in the Manuals
My laptop Pavilion 15-b104sp died not long ago, it seems it has a bad graphic card... I need the motherboard number to buy one from HP if possible. The problem is that I can't find the number anywhere on the net, the manual doesn't show it and the HP partsurfer doesn't find anything related to my laptop, is my computer a ghost??? I need help!
