Hi, my laptop turns off at random intervals (mostly when the battery is below 60%) and has to be plugged to power to start again. While booting up, it shows "CMOS checksum is invalid. Error 502" and successfully boots up. However, when not plugged in, it shuts down at random intervals. When plugged in for charging, it shows "plugged in, not charging" and at times starts charging and then stops even though the battery isn't full. Kindly guide me on how to resolve this issue.

24 digit failure ID on System test
Hey all. My notebook won't boot up and I get a failure ID 9U7NL2-82V9LH-GXKWLK-60VQ03 when I run a system extensive test. What's the damage? It fails when running a Hard Drive Short DST check on the primary HDD bay.

HDD Disappeared
Hi, yesterday before shutting down the pc i used the "HP Performance Tuneup" tool to do an optimization, including the "check on system files". Today after starting i immediately noticed that the (D:) partition has disappeared. (This laptop had 1TB HDD on D: and 250GB SSD on C:, never changed anything in the partitioning).
Why did this happen and how can i fix it?

HP X2 Chromebook keyboard backlight letter m not working properly
Hi,
Recently bought the wonderful X2 chromebook by HP. Couldn be happier, BUT out of the blue the letter m on my keyboard hasn't been properly lit anymore. Anyone else has this problem? Normally I wouldn fuss about something like this, but because the keyboard is so wondeful lit it stands out like a sore thumb right now when the sun goes down.

HP Laptop - keyboard problems
Good morning - i am having a total nghtmare
my notebooks keyboard is screwed up. Basically im having nothing but trouble with it
starts when booted up. go to my sign in. My screeen password contains certan keys whch my laptop sadly. ether doesnt respond to. delayed or constantly pressng to get no ey. or doesnt wor no matter how many tmes you press t.
had t sent for repar twce. and bascally they renstalled wndows frst tme. second tme nothng but wndows updates. they sad ts wndows problem. software. not hardware... so m strugglng to type words. or even chat to people because as you can see. some letters dont appear sometmes they wors some not number eght doesnt wor, tryng to mae the star appear. need those eys there n my passwords etc... bascally been fobbed off by my nsurance company many tmes, to have to accept that cant use my eyboard on my laptop. and s acceptable just to put up wth t.
mcrosoft contacted twce. and 2 techs ran alsorts of tests to no aval. they told me contact HP support. i cant fnd a number so ended up here have insurance on t hence repar teams havng t but told me they wont do nothng cos ts a wndows problem.
any help would be greatly apprecated

Don't have permission to access USB storage device
Hi all, I am having problems accessing the files on a removable (WD) storage device on my new HP Elite Book.
Attempts to access the storage device in the D: drive results in error notifications "You don't have permission to...."
The storage device works perfectly well on other computers.

Heatsink OMEN HP 15-ax
Dear HP Community,
i have a OMEN by HP 15-ax202ng which gets kind of hot, 60+ idle / 90isch under any kind of game/load). With the CPU being 8°C hotter than the GPU. I remember playing the same games with about 70-80°C and way hotter air behind the Laptop.
I cleaned the fins and the vents which kind of helped but not enough.
So i want to repaste and retape my Laptop. Therefore i need to know 2 things.
-which material is the heat sink made of?
- how thick are the thermal pads?
to know the size of the pads would be nice too but i think a pack is more than the area under the spreader.

HP Pavilion G6-1d60us -- Upgrading Processor -- Pref. i7 for Llano FS1-uPGA Socket
As mentioned in the Title, I found this handy archived topic from 2014 below, as I was googling around. I've temporarily installed a Linux os for the time being, due to laptop problems on a diff laptop. Short and sweet, considering that I need an Llano AMD APU processor, compatible with the FS1-uPGA Socket, are there any i7 -- 6-core Processors I could consider upgrading with?
The boot times of this laptop are a little rough. It can take a good minute for things to start up, and I plan on eventually trading this OS out for windows 10, if I can upgrade the processor, stick an old 8GB Ram in, and eventually trade the HDD out for a WD Black.

Windows 10 1903 features no longer developed
Since I haven't upgraded to windows 10 1903 yet, I decided to do some research. I came across this article of some of the features that aren't going to be developed https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/planning/windows-10-1903-removed-features One of the things that stood out to me was a warning message when connecting to a wireless network that is WPA or orTKIP. However if it is a WPA2 or WPA3, that there shouldn't be a problem from my understanding. I checked my network and it is a WPA2 PSK. I was wondering if windows 10 1903 would not give me any problems due to the network type.

EliteBook 8770w doesn't recognize NVIDIA Quadro K5100M GPU
I've recently built a custom 8770w. Specs as follows:
CPU: Intel Core i7-3490XM Extreme Edition
RAM: 2x 16 GB DDR3-1600
GPU: NVIDIA Quadro K5100M
HDD: 2x 2 TB SATA III 6 GB/s (RAID 0)
OS: Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC
I'm having issues with the GPU. It doesn't seem to recognize it correctly. Instead, it's just saying "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter". However, the Hardware ID seems to be correct (PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11B8&SUBSYS_176C103C&REV_A1).
All NVIDIA driver packages I've tried to install were "unable to find compatible hardware" or even "incompatible with this version of Windows".
I have no idea what to do. I need it to work ASAP. Please help!

Re: Battery Draining completely even in sleep mode
I own a HP latop : HP Envy 13-ah running on windows 10 with all the latest updates.
Let me explain the difference between sleep mode and hibernate mode.. Sleep mode uses battery and in hibernate mode the battery shoud not be used. Basically in hibernate mode the entire RAM content is written onto the hard disk and system basically hibernates. This is where I am facing the problem , my system drains upto 15 percent in a day in hibernate mode. The battery is dead in a week. This is my 10th laptop and i have not faced this issue before...
