Is the single USB Type C port on the HP Envy - 17-ae100ce 3.1 Gen 1 (3.0) or Gen 2?
I realize that the spec sheet on the HP Support site indicates that it's a Gen 1 port, but I'm confused because I've seen several instances now of retailers and even PC tech magazines/websites giving conflicting information. For example, in this article found on the PCWorld site https://www.pcworld.com/article/3272806/laptop-computers/hp-envy-17-specs-features-price-release-date.html they state that it's a Gen 2 port with the commensurate 10 Gbps data transfer speed. After a full charge, charge indicator switching between orange and white too frequently
Plugged in after shutdown, after full charge, charge indicator will keep switching between white and orange lights (Frequency: about 5 minutes )

HP Refuses Warranty Repair because of upgraded SSD
Hi, I have a HP 15-bw007ca laptop that I bought last year, roughly around this time period.
Two weeks ago, I sent it to HP for a warranty repair for a battery connection issue, laptop died as soon as you disconnect the charger. HP sent an email saying my estimated delivery date was Dec 4, that day passed by without a word from HP. I contacted HP and the customer service representative said because I have replaced the HDD with a SSD, the warranty is void.
Explain to me why HP is able to blatantly disregard federal Canadian and US laws and tell me, how is a SSD the cause of a battery issue months after its installation.

I forgot my Administrator or Power On Password, HP says it's a hardware issue...
I must have entered the wrong password too many time, my System Disabled (or that is the last error message that I saw. HP has been little to no help, they say it's a hardware issue and that it's not covered under my warranty (go figure). They want me to send it in and pay $400.00 to have the hardware issue repaired I just want to get back into it...even if I lose everything. And, the sooner the better.

HP 15-db0016nm Graphics card problem

I bought my new laptop 2 days before and I have some problems with Graphics card.
After I installed the original Windows 10 Pro, I've downloaded the drivers. Everything was fine except the graphics card driver. Inside Device Manager there was a little yellow triangle at my my graphics card. I updated it with Windows Update but the yellow triangle was still there. Later I downloaded AMD's Auto-detect tool but the same result was. After that I updated the whole Windows 10 to v1809 and finally the yellow triangle gone. I tried CS:GO on my new laptop and there was a lot or FPS Drops. I thought it's because of my Graphics card, so I downloaded a GPU Miner to test it (I won't mine on laptop, I just downloaded it to test GPU). When the miner start using GPU, then the laptop got blue death with VIDEO TDR Failure (atikmpag.sys). I tried to uninstall the Graphics card driver in Safe boot and install the exact driver from HP's site for v1809 Windows, but same result. What can I do to fix it?

Downgraded from win 8 to win 7. Problems in device manager 15-f024wm
I had to install a new hard drive in a used 15-f024wm laptop I bought last weekend. No recovery media so I decided to install Windows 7 64 bit from disk. I got most of the stuff working on it from searching the forums here but still have 4 items in device manager that have the yellow exclamation mark.

Updating of BIOS (not occurring)
My BIOS is on Insyde F.77 update which is suitable for 18 December 2015. I have tried to install the latest version of the BIOS which is Insyde F.89 which came out on 8 November 2018. However, when the update was ran, it said to restart the laptop in order for the flashing of BIOS to be carried out. When it restarted, the BIOS was not flashed at all and was restarted into Windows immediately, leaving my laptop with the same BIOS version aforementioned.
Is there any way for me to update the BIOS as I am experiencing this problem not once already. Thank you
