Switch insert / print screen

For my work, I need the Insert key a lot, and now I have an HP Desktop which has the INsert key merged with the Print Screen. The problem is that to use Insert I need to press the fn key simultaneously.

 

I'd like to switch this priority, so that Insert would activate when only pressing this key, and Print Screen when pressing fn too. I did switch this priority with all the F (1 to 12), because I thought this would apply to Insert / Print Screen, but it doesn't. Does anybody know how swith this or simply disable the Print Screen option?

HP Pavilion 8th Gen M.2 Slot and SSD type ?

Hi all,
I just purchased an HP Pavilion cx0140tx and since it's the base variant, it didn't came with an SSD. When I had inquired about installing an SSD, I was told by the HP retail staff that my variant does not have an M.2 Slot altogether, which got me worried. However, the HP Manual does mention that it supports an M.2 Slot. 

Here is the picture of my Board

My queries are:
1) Does the laptop indeed support an M.2 Drive (is it the yellow marker in the image above) ?
2) HP manual mentions that it supports an M.2 'ATA-7' Interface, so will this drive 'Samsung 970 Evo MZ-V7E250BW' which is an NVME PCIe M.2 2280 based interface be compatible with my laptop ?
3) If the Samsung 970 Evo is not supported, what are other best options for my laptop?

Turn off power indicator LED?

When the laptop is sleeping, the white LED that indicates power (on the right side, tiny LED by the little power icon) blinks. This drains the battery. Is there a way to make the light stop blinking?

DST Harddrive problem Failure ID 9GF773-7Q295P-XD7WMG-60XK03

The computer is generally very slow and freezes up regularly. After refreshing the Windows 10 install I ran the quick DST test and got this error code:

Failure ID 9GF773-7Q295P-XD7WMG-60XK03

 

What does this code mean exactly? Does it indicate drive failure exclusively or can it be a connection issue?

HP Envy laptop hinge coming off ?????

I recived this laptop as a gradutation present last year and loved it and took care of it for my first 2 semesters of college. then all of a sudden when I was applying for jobs last month I change it into tablet mode and the left hinge bends and cracks. I was so dissappointed that this happened even thought i can still use it but i can't take it anywhere with me anymore. I keep seeing these forums that it's a design flaw and HP hasn't done anything about it. hopefully someone can help me get this fixed in time.

My laptop is not charging

Hi everyone ¡ My laptop was working very well. One month ago, i plugged in my charger but i didn't notice that my laptop was not charging. It appears a message: 'Plugged in.Not charging'. I tried uninstalling the ACPI drive and then shutting my computer down but nothing happend. Sometimes, it started charging, but then with the same problem. it lasted like 1 week or more maybe. Then, my computer began charging normally , without problems. It was so strange, like if the problem or my computer got fixed by itself. Two days ago ,the problem started again. I've been trying everything but nothing works. I've been looking for some explanations and i found it could be my BIOS version: i don't have the latest version of my BIOS, but i'm not sure if i have to update it. Maybe some of you can help me with my problem, some other solutions or to explain me the dangerous of updating my BIOS version. Sorry if i have some grammatical errors. Thanks to all of you ¡

bought a new power cord and adapter and still won't charge will on

the original power cord and adapter stopped working due to a puppy and her habit of chewing, so I bought a new one, I plugged it in, it says "plugged in..Not charging".

  it will charge when the laptop is off, but the battery does not last long, got a new one and will only let me use the laptop for 2 hours but then a few minutes later it will say 1 hour left. I am lost and confused on how to fix this problem

HP is slow now with Windows 10 conversion. How much more RAM can I add?

Here is what i am running: Since converting to Windows 10, which I like, it seems everything is slow as mud. I was told that more RAM helps this problem. I believe I have almost 4 GB now. How much more, and how, do I add more? Can it only be done by a  tech, or can I do it my own?

Laptop keyboard - type multiple letters which is near

Hi, I come from 10 day holiday and when I first turned on my laptop I noticed that while typing some of letters it click some other toggether. For example I press 'D' it makes 'DF', 'C' => 'CV', 'E'=>'ER', 'R'=> 'ER', etc. On external keyboard it works without problem, I try in device manager reinstalling drive, also I try key bounde but nothing. My laptop is hp 15-ac158nm and it's about 2 years old. Sorry for my bad english.

I'm wondering if my laptop's ssd slot is SATA or PCIe.
The ssd I'm currently looking at is Crucial MX300 M.2 275GB (SATA).
My laptop model is Pavilion Power 15 cb035tx.

Can someone please check that this ssd is compatible with my system?

brought new HP Pavilion - 15-cc050wm, up on registering it with HP i dont see any warrenty, it says Manufacturer warranty has expired - See details.. should i return laptop. store may deduct restock fee if i return. how can i get warrenty

RAM upgrade HP pavillion ab035tx

Hi 

 

I have  HP pavillion ab035tx  laptop with I7 processor. I alreay  have 8 GB ram   preinstalled on my system from SAMSUNG

 (8GB 2rx8 PC3L-12800S-11-13-f3)

 

Now I want to upgrade it 16 GB by adding another 8GB.  Please suggest from which model,brand should I buy that is compatible with it. I could not find samsung equvalent in market . So I am looking to buy it online 

 

I have found one that seems quite close . Please confirm if it is fully compatible with my laptop and current ram installed.

All the while my lapopt only works when i plug in my charger than one day i could not opne my laptop when im charging it shows amber light blinking so i do not know what is the problem ?

envy x360 's GPU performance has been limited

Recently I bought this laptop,but soon i found that it's MX150 GPU performance is capped because of the temperature.

 

From the info given by GPU-Z,when temp goes to 63℃  ,  MX150 GPU will reduce the core clock,which may cause bad effect to gaming or other GPU consuming program.

 

I've already upgrade the BIOS to the latest version，but the GPU performance is still capped when temp goes to 63℃,  i wonder if there is a change that hp set the temp limit to default （94℃) or just make it higher than 63.THK

HP Spectre x360 i7-8705G running underclocked after returning from sleep

Hello! My new HP Spectre x360 15-ch003ur sometimes (it's a kind of random) underclocks CPU to 0.7 GHz or 1.5 GHz  after returning from sleep mode.

And it keeps this frequency, even if it's cold, charged (or even connected to power) and requires much more CPU.

Nothing can make it change frequency again, until I reboot it.

Battery for HP Pavillion 14-bf187no

On HP pages there is a search for spare  parts.  Looking for a replacement battery I entered the product number of my laptop to the search field and the search returned three options, varying in price and capacity.  But on looking at the pictures of these batteries, they all look very different physically! !  How do I know which one to choose?

 

Also, nowwhere in the support I could not find any information about memory upgrade, should I one day have need for it.

I wanted to know which make and brand SSD are supported by this laptop prior to purchase.
