Is a Hard Drive Hardware Kit (or some other items other than the ssd) required to install a ssd in the HP Pavlion 14-c050nr Chromebook?
Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03735120.pdf
I have this chromebook, and I have a ssd to install. Page 32 of the manual implies that a Hard Drive Hardware Kit is required for something as it reads; "NOTE: The hard drive spare part kit does not include the hard drive cable, or hard drive bracket and screws." but it isn't very explicit. It also includes this chart which isn't very explicit.
Description Spare part number
9.5 mm (0.37 in) × 6.35 cm (2.50 in), 320 GB, 5400 rpm, SATA 622643-005
7.0 mm (0.28 in) × 6.35 cm (2.50 in), 320 GB, 5400 rpm, SATA 645193-005
16 GB solid-state drive, SATA 713526-001
Hard Drive Hardware Kit (includes hard drive cable, and hard drive bracket and screws) 697905-001
Rephrased: Do I need a kit of some kind of any other items to install a new ssd?
It may not be worth buying other parts to install this hard drive that I have, and I don't really want to disassemble the chromebook only to find that I can't install the ssd without other items.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
If you reply, would you mind letting me know how you know, e.g. experience with this model, another source, I'm psychic, etc.
And thanks beforehand.
