HP 15 Notebook PC not charging at all

My laptop is not charging when I connect the Adapter to the computer. The battery reflects 11% with a red "x" that blinks over it. However, the white light next to the battery continues to blink. I know there is a trend where the laptop shows "plugged in but not charging". However, my computer does not reflect this at all. The computer has been at 11% for almost an hour now while the adapter is plugged in. I am hoping it is the the adapter charger that needs to be replaced but when I take out the battery and plug  in the Adapter only, the computer does not turn on at all. It does turn on without the adapter and the percentage will go down if I take it out.  I have ran the battery test and it has passed. However, it does not confirm if the Adapter battery has passed as it does not give me an option to check the adapter. It seems like the laptop is not recognizing the charger at all but the percentage of the battery does not decreased or increased when the Adapter is plugged into it. I am really at a lost for what to do. My next step is with Geek Squad with Best Buy but they have never fixed any issues I have had before and I usually end up figuring out the issue on my own by trouble shooting and researching. Most of they have been wrong when I seek their help. However, I cannot find a resolution or anything that matches my problem online. To recap, my computer is not charging at all. Please help me. I am at a lost at what to do. Please help me.

I am planning to install an external GPU for my laptop using exp gdc dock with the mini pcie port. I could not find information about whether or not my laptop has this whitelist or not. I am worried that after I purchase the dock and graphics card, the dock wont work. Any help is very appreciated, thank you!

USB C Ports on Spectre X360 are Loose, charges intermittently

Hi,

 

I bought a HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-w0XX in November of 2016. The USB-C ports have always been a bit loose. After plugging the AC adapter in, I have to find the perfect position for the laptop and leave it to charge, because if I use it while it's charging, it will stop charging intermittently.

 

I have read other support articles suggesting that the problem might be the AC adapter itself. The problem is NOT my AC adapter. I know this because I have plugged other USB-C peripherals into the laptop with the same intermittent effects.I use USB-C flash drives and sometimes a USB-C to HDMI adapter for an external monitor. Occasionally the monitor stops working or the flash drive quits being recognized because something on my desk moved a fraction of an inch. The problem is the ports.

 

Based on the number of support articles I've seen with this same problem, this seems like a design flaw, and this hypothesis is supported by the fact that HP has released a newer version of the Spectre X360 and changed the charging port so it's not using USB-C anymore.

 

I don't think my PC is under the limited warranty anymore, but I bought a 2-year protection plan when I bought it. What should I do to get this addressed? This laptop is a $2000 headache. How do I trade this in for a newer X360 that does not have this same problem? I would prefer to get the newer model that doesn't have this problem at all.

Upgrading processor and RAM

Please I need to upgrade my laptop processor and RAM
My laptop model is a HP notebook 15. G206ax
It has AMD A8 6410 processor I would like to upgrade it
And it has a 4 gb DDR3l ram
I would like to upgrade it to 8 gb
Please can anyone suggest whether it can be done?

I have HP APU Quad Core A8 - (4 GB/1 TB HDD/Windows 10 Home) 15-BG004AU Laptop  (15.6 inch) Laptop. 

 

Now I want to upgrade its RAM.

 

Will "DDR3, 800/1066MHz"  RAM type suits my PC?

Recently i bought a HP Pavilion 15-ck093nd (2QH07EA) and i would like to know if it's possible to upgrade the ram memory? And if it is possible, what's the maximum memory? I looked everywere but i couldn't find an answer.

HP Envy 15-ah000sa Motherboard replaced, BIOS info missing, battery not charging

Have replaced a failed (video corruption) motherboard an  HP Envy 15-ah000sa.

Laptop working fine but am getting a BIOS message at boot

 

"Manufacture Programming Mode is in Unlock mode"

Though I had found an online solution to that but altering BIOS with HP BIOS configuration utility throws a "your cmos checksum is invalid"

The error does not impair performance so can live with it, would be good to fix it though.

BIGGER PROBLEM

Battery will not charge. Shows as charging in windows, HP battery check shows battery to be fine.

Have tried the remove battery (it is internal), hold the power switch and remove the ACPI driver solution but that does not work.

Any help would be much appreciated

HP x2 210 G2 intermittent keyboard disconnects

Hi

 

I've recently been having trouble with my detachable notebook keyboard stopping responding. This has been working fine since I got it a year ago but just started stopping in the last few days. It works fine until I leave the keyboard untouched for around a minute or longer then when I return to tap the keyboard, it doesn't register any key presses or mouse movement.

 

Detatching the keyboard and reattatching it fixes the issue, until I leave the keyboard unattended once again.

 

As a side note, the computer doesn't switch over to tablet mode once the keyboard stops responding like it does when I fully disconnect the keyboard.

 

Troubleshooting steps I have tried so far:

 

Restarting the computer.

Updating all drivers.

Installed Windows updates.

Removed all keyboard and mouse devices from the device manager and restarting the computer.

Hard reset computer.

External USB mouse and keyboard work correctly with no disconnection issues.

Windows find and fix keyboards tool detects no problems, even whent run using the touch screen when the keyboard stops working.

Ran the hardware compentents check in the BIOS, both keyboard and mouse passed the tests and there didn't appear to be any disconnects.

 

If anyone has any suggestions, it would be great! It's really frustating when I'm trying to write in a word document and a simple pause to think or take a drink means I have to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard!

HP laptop does not turn on from battery

My laptop does not turn on when the power is disconnected. I can boot with a connected power cable and it will run for several hours when I disconnect the power supply once the system is up. That should mean that the battery itself is still good.

Power adapter flaky

My notebook is not charging, However, sometimes it DOES charge -- but only when the device is turned off. The battery seems fine; passes all the tests. I keep the notebook plugged in at all times. When I turn it on after a night of rest, the battery says fully charged, but there is no indication that the notebook is plugged in. The spot where the power adapter is connected to the notebook has a white light, which tells me there is power coming in, but it's not getting to the battery.

 

Any suggestions?

Fans too loud

Hi,

 

i was wondering if the fans on this machine are supposed to be loud on low rpm and very low temperatures while there is no cpu/gpu load at all?

 

temperatures are close to 86F /30 celsius and the cpu fan just wont take a break

hello, i am new to this site and know nothing about computers so please write as basic as you can,

ok so, i lost my memory not the computers two years ago, (18years worth)

we had a laptop the one i am still using today

HP Pavilion Notebook PC Product ID 00258-61320-28489-AAOEM. Windows 8.1

 

it has numourous virus's and is very slow

it has a i5 4200u cpu

8gb ram

and 1tb hard drive

 

i would really like to buy a new computer (laptop)

but do not have a lot to spend.

can anyone tell me what would be a good one to buy, i am not a gamer but i do like the computer to run fast and smooth. thank you for any help that you are able to give, storage is important, i mostly use for facebook and whatsapp, i write poetry for a website and view emails. apart from that i have video files and pictures which i wish to transfer over to the new pc. so as i said space is important. thank you once again for your help.

Another Dead Spectre x360 Motherboard

Spent good money on a nice Spectre x360 for Christmas of 2015.

 

About a year and a half into ownership it started not turning on when pressing the power button. After repeated attempts, sometimes on the second try - sometimes on the 30th try, it would always power on eventually. We dealt with the inconvenience of this boot up issue for a long time. The problem progressed to the point where we couldn't get it to turn on at all and we would give up trying. Sometimes we'd try again after a few days and it would boot up, but that became rarer and rarer.

 

It's to the point now where we can't get it to power up at all. Even when plugged in. The little light is lit next to the power plug socket. The battery was never an issue,  once it powered up the battery would last forever. 

 

I'm sure this is another dead motherboard as these laptops are prone to a common hardware failure (Link1, Link2, Link3, Link4). The motherboard hasn't gone up in smoke like so many have already, but I feel like its on the verge at this point. 

 

It's a shame these laptops have this achilles heal. These really are fantastic laptops. We were extremely please with our first HP purchase up until we had these boot issues. Now we're disgusted at having spent so much money on a premium laptop to have it be a paper weight now.  We need a working laptop, but I will not spend over $1,000 on another one from HP at this point. 

 

What are my options? I know HP has replaced defective motherboards for free for many customers outside of their warrantee.  I'd be willing to spend a little money to get it fixed, but nothing like the quotes from HP other people were getting.

I have an HP 17" laptop.  One of the usb ports on the left side of laptop stopped working.  The other two, one on the left and one on the right are still working.  How can i fix the one that stopped working.   I tried all the proceedures that were recommended when I google the problem.   Thanks!

Hi Dear,

      Few days ago my laptop accidentally droped by hand  and the top left end got broken the touch pad still working sometime arrow stuck on screen place from where screen is broken  and the display is still perfect

so what part i should have to replace i will providing you the picture of screen kindly suggest the solution
