I'm trying to add RAM to my laptop and I saw a video on youtube which made it look easy. One of the steps included running a cmd with administrator wich I was unable to do. I ran the cmd, but not with administrator, so the attempt was incomplete. I gave up for a few days. I've renewed my attempt. I searched the question in my subject and found a comment about the exact model number on the HP service tag. I found 3 different numbers on the laptop (that I thought might be model numbers). There is a number above the top right corner of the screen which reads: HP Pavilion dv6000. There are 4 sets of numbers on the HP service tag. I believe that the first top number on the service tag is the exact model number that he mentioned which is - Product: HP Pavilion dv6500. Then there is the serial number s/n: and the p/n: numer and the service tag number which is dv6648se. Am I correct? If you have any easy ways for me to add RAM or memory please let me know.

Laptop charger not charging.
Hello, this is urgent. This just happened a while ago. I was playing a game here on my laptop and it was under 20% battery life, as I continued to play when it was plugged in. And all of a sudden I hear a spark and then my laptop shut down unexpectedly, and I immediately unplugged it and tried turning it on but it wouldn't turn on for a few minutes. Afterwards everything was normal, but as I plugged the charger back in the light indicator on the side of my laptop wont lit up anymore.
So I'm not sure if it's my laptop or the charger is broken. Please help.

just told by kaspersky security this comp. does not support virtualization
my internet security kaspersky tells me they cannot get their program to fully work in this computer because it does not support virtualization. i have had years of excellent experience with kaspersky in all the dell machines. now thought we were improving and it just does not work

replacing hdd in a laptop
I have a Hp Pavilion g7-2069wm Laptop. The hinge broke and the case is now worthless. This laptop has 6gb (2gb + 4gb) ram, and a 750gb HDD p/n 638820-00, 5400RPM SATA,HGST JET B. I would like to put this into my HP g71-340US laptop which only has a 320GB 540RPM,2.5-SATA P/N 480605-00. Are these two drives compatible? I also want to upgrade the ram by switching the SIDIMM, 2GB,PC2-6400,ETT,ADA part number 497772-BR3 out and putting in a the SODIMM,4GB,PC3-12800,Micron, part number 6388020-+001. How do I find out if the replacement parts are compatible with the older HP g71-340US Laptop. Also would I have to upgrade the bios? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I want to turn the HP g7`-340US into a server. All the part numbers are the HP part numbers

M.2 SSD Socket on ENVY m7-u009dx
Hello, trying to determine if my HP ENVY m7-u009dx has (or could have?) an m.2 SSD? The manual for my model ("HP ENVY m7 Notebook PC (model numbers used 17-u000 through 17-u099") says it's compatible/shows how to (un)install an M.2 formfactor card, the exploded view of the laptop shows an SSD card, but manual doesn't show where it is, nor can I find the socket anywhere on the main board. I've removed the battery and hard drive and have looked all around the main board.

Keyboard Problems on new Omen
Hello, i recently purchased an HP Omen from best buy through the "Geek Squad" company. It's a great laptop, but i have one very annoying issue which im not sure is hardware or software.
When playing games that require movement using "wasd", my keys will often get stuck. For example, after pressing one of the keys, say "s", my character will sometimes continue to move even after the key is completely released (and the key also returns to it's normal state, it is not physically stuck).
I'm not sure what kind of issue this is, and yes I have re-installed the drivers multiple times in an attempt to fix this. There have been reports of this issue with other customers online, and every forum or chat ive seen about it does not end solved. I'd appreciate some help/advice on what to do. Yes, i do have a warrenty on this laptop, but the members of "Geek Squad" were allegedly unable to replicate the bug, so they could not do anything else besides re-install the driver again.

smart hard disk failure
hello,
please someone tell that ofr past month when i open my laptopat startup the pc freezes and after two or three tries the error come smart hdd failure.
then after another try the pc boots and works normal
the laptop at every startup does this
i ran the diagnostic test it even passed the short dst tests and checked for bad sector no error was found
Anyone with the help will be highly appreciated.

Upgrading Processor - A8-4500M to A10-4600M
Hi, Folks,
I own a Pavilion g6 2005-ax which has a 3 GHz/2.1 GHz AMD Quad-Core A8-4500M APU which I'm thinking of switching out for a AMD Quad-Core A10-4600M APU which I came across for cheap.
Are there any issues that I'm going to face? The question is more from a compatibility basis as I've previously dismantled the laptop to replace the thermal gel.
Note that the laptop has dual graphics, 7640G from the APU and an additional 7670M from the GPU.
The A-10 4600M APU has an inbuilt 7660G but I've seen laptops that run a 7660G + 7670M configuration.
Any other advice would be appreciated as well.

Plugged in,not charging after 84% charging,and shut down on 40%
I have HP pavilion RT3290 from 2 year,Nowadays i find when i plugge in charger it will charge but after 84% of charging it show plugged in, not charging tag.Simmilearly on bettery system get shutdown when 40%bettery remaining without showing any battery warning of 7% and 5%.
