The Windows 10 upgrade seems to be working fine on my HDX 16 (I did a clean install).

 

Now I want to talk to Cortana and cannot get my built-in microphone to work. This brings up two questions.

 

1. Does my laptop model have an Integrated Microphone Array? I cannot remember the last time it worked, but I thought it had one.

 

2. If it does have a built-in mic, how do I get Windows 10 and Cortana to hear it?

 

I have tested and have got things to work with an external (Logitech) headset mic and headphones. And, I have an old unbranded external stand mic that works as well. I just cannot yell "Hey Cortana" at my PC and get anything to happen. I also ran the mic test on the Integrated Microphone Array and it recorded nothing (and I set the array to default).

 

My driver is IDT High Definition Audio CODEC 6.10.6225.0, dated 7/21/2009.

I have HP Envy 14 - J119TX with the spec as described below:

 

Intel i7 6700HQ, NVIDIA GTX950M 4GB, 8GB RAM (stock: 4GB on board + 4GB on slot), 240GB Corsair SSD

 

I've read on intel's ark website that the CPU on my laptop supports for DDR4 and DDR3L memory chips. This interests me on doing memory upgrade. I've tried upgrading my notebook's memory using any of the chip from this set: Corsair SO-DIMM DDR3 16GB PC12800 - CMSX16GX3M2B1600C9 (2X8GB). And it turned out to be failed. I thought it was the memory set that it was the sets' defect. When I claimed the warranty, the new sets has the same error; my notebook failed to boot and the diagnostic said that there's an error on the memory. This makes me wonder, should I only upgrade the memory from HP only or can I use memory from other brands like corsair? And is it possible if I upgrade the memory on my notebook using one of these chips: Corsair Memory 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 SODIMM 2133MHz C15 Memory Kit (CMSO8GX4M1A2133C15) or even this one: Corsair Memory 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 SODIMM 2133MHz C15 Memory Kit (CMSO32GX4M2A2133C15)?

I have a mobile workstation HP elitebook 8440w with factory 9 cell battery and ac adapter+cord (US) type. I moved from US to India and had to use indian type power sockets. I used a Targus international power adapter (2 pin) which accomodates 3pin US power cord of ac adapter. It worked well for about 2 weeks without any problem. One day, I felt shock on my laptop. All over my laptop, including keyboard keys, palm rest, power button, back of monitor, and everywhere only when plugged in for charging (tested using tester). Not severe and not mild, its good enough to pull your fingers. Since I had no other internet options I had to use the laptop anyway...I wait for charging and unplug and use it. No shock if unplugged. But the battery doesnt get charge to 100%. It charges upto 75-76% and stop charging+when drains it switches off (not shut down) at 40-48% battery). First, I changed power cord to get an indian type pin (not the brick of ac adapter). It still does the same and I also noticed that the ac adapter brick gets heated before it stop charging. I feel it might be little too hot than usual (I dont have A/c only fan in my room)). A hp power assistant battery check shows battery is ok. I am able to use the system if it is charged above 50%. Is it a earth electricity issue? Or ac adapter issue? Please help.
I have gone through other threads in this forum but couldnt fix it. Thanks.

Hello, I have broken motherboar card with Intel CPU. I want replace it.

There is sticker on my cart:

 "Replace with hp spare 598667-001"

"8K1110 55.4GK01.111G"

 

Can I replace it with another 598667-001 48.4GK06.041 ?

And second question, if you know - What is this numbers mean (48.4GK06.041)?

I have my Presario CQ42-268tx since last 2010 and i want to upgrade it (its hard drive to SSD and its CPU from i3 to i5) i really love this loptop beacuse it is still working good together with other new models.... what should i do first to find the right spare to use to upgrade..... i already upgraded my RAM to 8gb

 

 

the only issue of this model is you are forcely need to change your hardrive every 2-3years because the drive on the said age within this loptop crashes.... thats why i want to upgrade it....   

 

 

 

Anybody can help me to make my loptop stronger???

hi my two finger scrolling is not working . I have updated the drivers (installed sp 70198). also , still it is not working.  When i go to control panel-> mouse, it displays " unable to connect to the synaptic pointing device driver". What should i do? Earlier one finger scrolling was working(using right edge of touchpad), but after installing the driver , it is also not working. Other function of touch pad working properly. This problem occured 10 months ago alo, but the customer care help me resolved that. I m using cracked window 8.1 . Plz help

II soon started to notice that even if I opened the laptop slowly or gently, there was this awful cracking noise coming from the computer. I had gotten used to it and assumed it was a minor thing. It wasn't until I had run my hand over the left corner of the laptop that I noticed that the bottom cover had been starting to "pop out"  and also hinge cover is poped out and seprated by few mm.

 

and today hinge cover break and hinge is out of display i call hp suppor since my laptop is under warranty.

i serach for internet and ther is many hinge problem there. 

does HP fixes this problem.

what to do next.

 

I have never once damaged this laptop via tossing, dropping or rough handling. This latop is my first computer so I have made sure to take the most absolute delicate care of this computer, including handling and virus protection.

I replaced  my MB with this 642754-001 motherboard w/AMD Video. But the question is. When doing so I noticed that there is an empty slot on the board just above the wifi 1/2 card. I think that is what is called the PCIe connections. What can that extra slot be used for, or did HP drop the ball and make it unUsable?

Hi !. Recently bought a HP probook 6560b notebook, it seems quite good to my job(programmer). But RAM memory needs to be upgraded(8 GB) for a better working experience. 

 

- I need to know if this notebook supports DDR3 @1600 MHZ of frequency.

- ¿Which are the specs of these RAM's in order to get a better compatibility ?.

- Maxium amount of memory supported.

 

By the way, has a processor Intel Core i5 @ 2.1 GHz, two memory modules of 2 GB each.

I slapped a i7 2760qm into this to replace the i5 that was in it, this i7 max RAM is 32GB so does this make it able to now handle 32GB of RAM providing one can even find a 16GB Stick of RAM (1x16) DDR3 .BUT the Main question is can this system now handle 32GB RAM instead of the 16GB MAX RAM specs that is rated for this system hp Elitebook 8460p .

My laptop is having issues working the keyboard. The keyboard itself won't let me type anything, but the touchpad and mouse and any other USB device works fine. The lights showing when I'm on WiFi and when caps lock is on still light up, but I have to use the on-screen keyboard to type. I've tried uninstalling the keyboard and all of the updates and reinstalling it to see if that would change anything but it didn't. I've also tried connecting my sister's tablet into the keyboard and it works just fine. She has the same kind of laptop as me. I've tried connecting her keyboard to my tabley and it still didn't work. I'm also upgraded to Windows 10 if that helps figure out the problem. Any advice or help I could get?

Once I replace the hard drive in my Laptop, I have a Windows 10 ISO DVD to install Windows. Microsoft requires that I provide the license  key for Windows 8 that came with the laptop to provide free upgrade to Windows 10. Where do I find the License key for the Windows 8 that came with the HP Laptop. It is currently upgraded to Windows 10, and current hard drive is working fine. I want to replace it with a SSD and clean install of Windows 10

Okay, so i ordered the HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab51 on wenesday 01/06/2016 and it still says its just processing even now, 5 days later. But thats all it says i have no other information or anmything and im getting a bit worried seen as the money was temporarily taken instantly from my account. Can someone help?

I have a pavillion g6 2288se whose wifi is not working. The F12 button is red instead of white, there is no yellow staff on the driver. Please how can I activate wifi?
