Hi guys, I bought my HP Spectre x360 back in January and I've begun to notice that the lid of the laptop no longer seamlessly lies flat when the laptop is closed. When closed the center of the laptop lifts off a bit from the body, right where I usually grab to open the laptop. The left side of the right hinge is also raised higher then the right side of the hinge when the laptop is open. The left hinge is still flat. 

 

Will this issue increase the likelihood of the display cracking or should I send it in to be repaired?

Have been losing the cursor repeatedly lately.  Have looked at varied answer logs and tried some of the suggestions but none of the Q and A's seem to fit mine.  I have the screen set at 125 which is comfortable for me and doesn't spill over screen edges.  When I manage to recover the cursor by rotating hands over the cursor bar, it seems to come from the right and the bottom, but not always. And it takes totally forever to retrieve it by rotating the cursor bar.  Can't think of any changes I would have made to create this problem, but it's pretty recent.  Is there something I can do if it ever disappears and doesn't return at all, and what can I do (if anything) to stop the current problem of having it disappear off the edge?    I don't have a touch screen.

Hi:

 

My HP Pavilion dv6500z running Windows Vista "freezes-up", either from when windows are open and have not been used

 

for a little while, or they just don't open...I frequently get the "rotating circle" but nothing happens.  

 

Sometimes, Windows "hangs" and has to restart, or I get the (Not Responding) message in the title bar of an open window.

 

Is this an Internet problem, a memory problem, both, something else ???

My laptop will not power on. I thought it was a charger issue, so I bought a new one, it wasnt the problem.

There is an orange light that constantly blinks. The laptop will not power on at all, not even on the inside.

I tried lots of things and nothing seems to be working.

My computer made a really loud vibrating noise. I took battery out really quick but when I put battery back in the computer will not turn on. I've had it for about 2 years now.

My laptop is a month old and I am still getting used to it. Recently purchased a wireless mouse from HP. It is HP's own product, nothing unusual.

I inserted the micro USB receiver into the laptop and started using the mouse but now it is stuck inside. The ports are all slightly tighter than usual but I was able to remove USB stick or cables before. But the micro mouse USB receiver is too small to grab and I cant pull it.

I was just testing my new mouse and did not want to have the USB boost port dedicated forever to a mouse.

Please help!

 

I have had this notebook for the past two years, and this has happened before; I don't remember how I solved it then. The small orange LED on the mute (also f6) key doesn't light up. This happened after I cleaned the computer using CCleaner. I suppose that I deleted something I shouldn't have. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem? Thank you.

The laptop I purchased in 2014 and have treated with care has a broken hinge due to a well documented design flaw in HP laptops. The online support forum is full of complaints about HP Envy Touchsmart 15 broken hinge. It is extremely disappointing that a computer that costs almost a grand is broken in less than 2 years. I am aware HP recalled the faulty hinge in 2008 and the products continue to have these issues. It is not fair that the costumers have to pay for a faulty design. I called and they said there aren't enough complaints to recall but there are many threads on the HP forums that speak to this problem. I just cannot believe that HP is a company that won't stand behind their product. I request the replacement or repair of my product is covered by HP. I should not have to spend money to repair it within 2 years when it is a known defect.

Hello,

so i wanted to add an SSD to the notebook and i noticed it has M2 ssd slot.

i checked HP manual on the following link:

in the M.2 section it says:

"

M.2 2280 SSD (NGFF), SATA-3

Supports the following drives:

Set as primary storage if selected."

 

so i wanted to know , since its very hard to find TLC drive , is it possible to use MLC instead?

and another question is can i use other capacitys?

I searched this site, and googled, and can't seem to find the answer to a simple question.

I have a HP ENVY 15t-k000 with a 1TB HDD, and I would like to upgrade to a larger HDD. What is the maximum HDD that is supported for this system?

You would think this is easy information to find, but alas it appears to be some super secret.

I recently installed a HIGHDING SATA Blu-ray BD-R/RE Drive Burner Writer Replacement for HP Pavilion g7 g7t m7 Series  (it is a replacement for a regular dvd multi writer but it matches the number 682750-001) that I bought on Amazon. It works great playing dvd's but I am having trouble with the blu ray discs. I had bought the Nero blu ray dvd player and installed it, but when I contacted Microsoft Help line thay couldn't figure it out (  I think the guy was in a hurry fir some reason) all they could suggest is to get an installation disc from the people I bought the player from. When I contacted them to return it so I could buy one that came with a disc, they suggested I download a program called Leawo Blu Ray Player. I did that and it playes the Blu Ray dvd's now but the picture is pixelated! The sound is perfect, it's just the picture is the problem, and I am using a brand new disc that I opened just for that purpose. I am going to try other discs as well to make sure the dics is not the problem. I was wondering if anyone had run into this before or had any other suggestions. Thanks a bunch, Ken,

When I upgraded the OS to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1, the SD card reader ceased to work at all and could not be located as a hardware device. There is supposedly no driver update through HP; anyone help, please?  Thank you.

The hinge on my HP Envy 17T computer just broke last night from regular use.  Now the shell seperates when I open or close the screen.  Then I have to try and snap the plastic shell back into a normal position so no dust, dirt, or other items get inside to mess up the operation of the computer.

 

Does HP Tech support have a phone number to call?  All the automated system does is send you to this website.  Seems very low tech for a high tech company.

My laptop is about 4 years old and I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.  The only problem I'm experiencing is my touchpad is almost unuseable.  It is very sensitive and I can barely control it (it moves very fast and is erratic). 

I tried different setting changes in the touchpad control panel and I can't get the optimal setting out of it.  So I think it's the driver, except I have the latest driver installed (19.0.19.1).

 

 Has anyone any suggestions?
