I know how to go into settings and change it so that the clickpad is disabled when the mouse is in use. I leave the mouse plugged in all the time because I don't like the clickpad. However, I have to disable the clickpad EVERY TIME I restart the computer. Like magic, the setting goes away each time the computer is turned off. I want it to stay permanently. How do I make that happen.

Full charge capacity is above Design capacity??????
Hi my computer automatically shuts down around 30% (before it was around 26%). I have tried to calibrate the battery, checked battery status through HP diagnostic utility, HP support assistant, but non of them shows any problem in the battery or never says my battery should be calibrated.. but now I realized that my Full charge capacity of the battery is higher than the Design capacity and also Remaining capacity is higher than the Full charge capacity.. Could you please tell me a way to fix this problem? It started to happen after I have installed Windows 10 then after weeks I came back to Windows 8.1 to find out if the problem doesn't exist there, but I was wrong, it was still there and now I'm back on Windows 10 again and trying to find a way to fix this problem. If you could help me with this, it would really be appreciated. Thanks!

Main cooling fan not functioning fully
alright so my laptops fan is acting up i found several solutions but the one that stuck out to me the most was an outdated bios software i bought mine refurbished so i checked it and saw it was a 2014 bios i got it mid 2015 what i'm needing is either help or instructions on where to find the latest bios for my computer when i turn it on it says FAN (90B) is not fuctioning at full capacity i preffer to use team viewer for safety of my computer if you can help please email me at cloudmiller97@gmail.com thank you for reading this

Black screen
J'ai un Pavillon dv9000 et un G62, tous les 2 ont un black screen au démarrage. Je remarque que ce problème semble courant pour les HP. Concernant le dv9000, je dois ouvrir l'écran au maximum avant le démarrage, alors j'ai un écran.
Pour le G62, j'ai essayé touites les astuces proposées mais rien n'y fait. Je doute maintenant de la fiabilité des HP

Omen Keyboard Backlight(flickering) and Web browsers
So I just got my new Omen and went ahead and upgraded to Win10 from Win8.1. Did the usual system upadtes for all drivers(BIOS also; Version F.32) and installed a few softwares, including Google chrome.
So now, everytime I am streaming any video from youtube/twitch or any other sites my keyboard backlight switches off automatically. It does come back on when I paue the video. It looked like it was a feature but from time to time the backlight would switch itself on while a video was playing and flicker for about a min or so. For a majority of the time, though, the keyboard light would be off while streaming videos from google chrome with the occasional flickering of the backlight.
There was no problem in store when I was test runnig this laptop by going on youtube and trying a few videos, on Win8.1.
Any guidance would be appriciated.

cant back up on my cd
ok I try to back up on my dvd-r I put it in hit back up it goes 25% then stops. When i first got this laptop and did back up it would say would u like to format the disk I would say yes and it would work fine, now i dont even get that it say place blank cd which i do it goes 25% then said not responding or it says cant read disk. Help I cant figure out what is wrong.

Where did all of the Spectre x360 (L0Q51UA#ABA) drivers go??
I was having an issue with Windows 10 overwriting the sound driver with its rediculous assumption that anyone would want Microsoft managing thier hardware drivers. Disabled automatic hardware driver updates. Uninstalled the Audio and Video drivers. Go to HP website to procure said up-to-date drivers. Gone.
I tried using the HP Support Assistant to get the new ones, but it does not detect that the sound drivers are not installed.

Pavilion 15-p172NR problem with adding second drive instead of optical drive.
Dear specialists,
Suddenly wanted to add one SSD instead of optical drive at my Pavilion 15-p172NR (K6Y24EA#ACB) but faced with following problem:
After putting SSD (using adapter of course) instead of optical drive -the system doesn't want to see it. As well BIOS and system diagnostic doesn't see any drive.
Tried to put in adapter HDD instead of SSD - the situation the same. System doesn't see it.
May I ask if the motherboard of exactly this model supports connection of second SSD or HDD through the BUS of optical drive? I didn't found description of this motherboard.
Will be appreciate for advice.

HP Pavillion M6 Left hinge ripping breaking away from computer
I have been experiencing where the left hinge on my Pavillion M6 model numberB5S08UA#ABA is breaking and causing the black plastic arround the computer monitor to crack. I saw on the message boards that several owners of this unit have experienced the same problem and would like to know if a solution has been created for this problem?

Hp 15-g018dx RAM upgrade
I have bought an 8gb DDR3 PC3-12800 laptop RAM, which I know for sure works with my specific model of computer, as I installed it correctly because it boots up fine, except it doesn't get past the HP loading screen and tries to boot into the recovery manager and ends up restarting and repeating the loading process. I have recently upgraded to windows 10 and I am not sure if that could be the problem, or if I need to download a driver or what. I have tested the memory using the hp system diagnostic (f2)and it has passed, then I tried to boot into recovery manager(f11) and it did the process explained above again. My warranty is up, but all I really need is info on how to properly upgrade the RAM memory if there is anything other than the memory itself. Thanks for your help.

Hi, I bought a HP 15-af008AX AMD Laptop with 4 GB RAM installed in slot 1. When I installed 8 GB in slot 2, the Windows 10 64 bit OS is detecting 12 GB RAM, but displays the usable RAM as 3.45 GB. What is the maximum RAM capacity for HP 15-af008AX AMD Laptop. Will the laptop accept 8 GB in a slot so that I can upgrade my RAM to 16 GB using 2 slots. Or, whether the HP 15-af008AX AMD Laptop supports only 4 GB RAM slots so that I can upgrade my RAM using two 4 GB slots to a maximum of 8 GB. Please revert asap to this question. finger print reader not working in hp probook 6460 b
in my hp laptop the biometric device driver is installed that is validity finger print reader but it shows a yellow mark in device manager also i can not do anything with it in hp security manager dont know what the hell is happening firstly it was working but after installing new windows it is doing so. any one there who can help pleaseeeeee

Problem with DVD/CD drive
I recently purchased a refurbished HP Envy 17 notebook to replace my 18" screen Acer notebook.
It had Win 8.1 on it which I then upgraded to Win 10.
Everything worked as it should, including the DVD/CD when it arrived, as well as after the upgrade.
As I was used to having 2 internal hard drives on my Acer, and could not find a drive cable for the HP I used one of these to replace the DVD unit

This worked perfectly.
I then found a second hand drive cable for the HP on eBay and when it arrived I installed the second drive in the correct hard drive bay, and re-installed the DVD drive - although I was hoping to replace it again later with the Hard Drive caddy so I could have 3 internal drives.
This is where the problem started.
Although the second drive was now showing and available to use, the DVD drive no longer shows up in Explorer or in Device Manager, even if I remov the second drive from the bay.
Can anyone suggest any way how to rectify this problem???
