the computer has a regular hard drive and ssd cache. As far as I understood these two drives must be in a RAID 0, but at the moment ssd appears as a regular disk is not labeled, ie raid no.

My notebook is HP Pavilion DV7-2130er, this one
BIOS version is F.46
Operating system is Win8 x64
I'd like to upgrade its hard disk drive and WLAN module.
In the service manual for HP Pavilion DV7-2000 series we can see that combinations from 2x250GB to 2x500-GB HDDs are availiable. But maybe the combination of 120GB SSD and 1000GB HDD will work too? If it is impossible, could you write me the best working alternative, please? What about, for instance, 120GB SSD and 500GB HDD?
Guys from HP technical support said that onlly one HDD (not SSD) or two similar HDDs could be installed. Otherwise one of the drives can not to be recognized by the operating system , they said. But here I've found the HP Expet's advice to upgrade HP Pavilion dv7-2012tx (DV7-2000 series, such as mine!) by installing one 128GB SSD as a system drive and one 500GB HDD as a data storage (second drive). And some topics (for instance, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) contain such advices, and the topicstarters didn't write about any troubles with their upgrades. So where's the truth? Should I try such combination too?
And I'm also going to replace WiFi module. I know about the problem of "white list" of compatible models. The service manual contains 4 WLAN models for DV7-2000 series:
- Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100 802.11a/b/g
- Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100 802.11a/b/g/n
- Broadcom 4322 802.11a/b/g/n
- Broadcom BCM4312 802.11b/g
So can I replace my Broadcom BCM4312 802.11b/g with Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100 802.11a/b/g/n or with any other Wi-Fi "N" modules?

Boot drive not found. ???? I've done all the BIOS stuff with reinstalling default F9 and then the F10 save. Still not working. If I do F2 for the hard drive test it says smart check and short DSI not installed. I've unplugged and replugged the hard drive. Nothing is working. HELP!

so i turned on my HP G56 Laptop this morning and nothing happens but the caps lock blinking and the wifi and power lights are red. i found online some codes but the caps lock codes when upto six, my laptops caps lock keeps on blinking and doesnt stop. it blinks around every 4 seconds.

Ok so surely its not the graphics as its intel, have replaced the motherboard and that hasnt fixed the problem. Both motherboards did not display to external monitor either. No bios access screen shows lines but weird because cant display to monitor. This is making it go crazy. Can't find information online because everytime i search about all posts are related to HP DV6000 with nvidia graphics. This is not the same case. Can it be that the laptop is not getting enough power and needs a new dc power jack?

I recently purchased this laptop and it functions just fine in all areas except: Won't power up unless adapter is attached. Once unit has started power up, the power connector can be removed and it will continue to work as long as it is not powered down completely. The battery will not charge above 39%. Is there a charge level that is required for battery power up? I have ordered a new battery in the hopes that this will resolve the issue but I would think that 39% should be adaquate.
I'm intrested in adding more RAM to my laptop, it says that I have 2 user accescible slots and I can have up to 8GB of ram.
My problem is that there's so many types of RAM that im afraid of making the wrong purchase so if someone could point me in the right direction and maybe add a link to the exact type of RAM that I need I would really appreciate it!

I scan HP assistent - no problems... test batery - test pass (battery Age 1364 days, Cycle 385/300, serial Number 02013 2010/09/27, t= +21*C, design capasity 4300mAh, full charge capasity 3508mAh=87%; cell voltage:1=3654mV; 2=3673mV;3=3674mV;4=3672mV, status 80, AC Power:True), unnnstal/ install Microsoft ACPI_Compliant Control Method Battery in Device Manager, update BIOS , check materboard - pass (start PC from plugged in charger , when battery removed - start, ok) - no result.
LED indicator work ALL time, no difference - working PC, shut down or charging - just different color. If I want swith off (because decrease battery capasity, app. 20% per day, when not use & PC is shut down) - I must remove battery...
When start PC - all woks perfect, just use Hight- Perfomance GPU(in this PC are 2) & I must swith manually in Power saving GPU.. When use Power saving GPU & not plug in charger - can use app.4 hours...What I must do & fix it?

Hi, my HP TrueVision HD web camera stopped working a week ago. My laptop is HP Pavilion dv6-6179er Entertainment Notebook PC series. Its model number is QA398EA. Product number: QA398EA#ACB. Operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Service Pack 1. When web cam failed to work on my Skype I have downloaded Youcam, but it did not detect the camera as well. So, neither Skype nor Youcam can see the camera on my laptop. When I looked through Device Manager it appeared that Imaging Devices category had disappeared from the list of Device Manager. I tried to shutdown laptop, remove the battery and press the on/off button for 10 sec as was instructed in this web-site. However, Imaging Devices didn't show up. When I click on Add Legacy Hardware (in Action menu of Device Manager) Imaging Devices appear in the list. However, computer doesn't detect the TrueVision HD driver, it detects some other irrelevant driver and associate it with Imaging Device. Looks like either of two options: either web camera driver has been deleted from the computer or some hardware issue with the camera. Is there any way I could download HP TrueVision HD camera driver into my computer to see if it is driver issue or hardware? Appreciate your help in advance. Thanks.

I've got a HP Envy DV6-7375ez type notebook. My problem is, that when I got up at morning, and turned on my notebook, suddenly a message appeared before Windows start: "HP Battery Alert - The system has detected the storage capacity of the battery stated below to be very low. For optimal performance, this battery may need to be replaced.
Primary (Internal) Battery (601)"
It's strange, because if I pull out the power, and use only battery, I can use the machine, just can't see if it is charged or not, doesn't show percentage. If I turn the machine off, and plug power in, then the LED indicator lights in white color (it should be amber, if it is charging - looks like it's not charging now). I've already taken it out, waited about 30 minutes, then put it back - but nothing difference.
Also tried the HP System Diagnostics Battery Test, but when I start the battery test, it stucks at 1%, and nothing happens for minutes. I need to turn off the machine as hold down power button for about 5 secs. Tried it two times, and it was the same.
Yesterday it was working fine, used from my bed via battery, there was not problem at all. Have you got any ideas? Is it a "must to buy another battery" situation? Or should I try with any softwares, or wait more than 30 minutes, or something else? Thanks for your reply!

I neen drivers for notebook 15 r-053sr. (for win 7 64x). The drivers from official cite of HP don't work. If i try to install it, programm write "This system don't requaered to minimum requaement....". Any drivers i find on official cite of Intel.
